For males: Did joining a frat make u dumber?

by:

I know this sounds like a stupid question, but I was thinking about joining a frat next year. I’ve noticed that many of the older guys I know who were smart in high school went off the deep end after joining Greek life, and their gpas dropped a lot. They don’t seem as motivated to learn as they used to be. Is this pretty normal for fraternities? If not, what frats tend to care about academics a lot?

No dude. Just pick a house that cares about school. I think the top 5 gpas are like fiji sig ep beta sig asig and lambda. Just pick one of those if u care ab school and you’ll be fine

I’m in one of the 5 listed and it literally helps you. There’s always at least 3 people down the hall from you that have taken the same class you’re in and are willing to help. School comes first for those 5 frats and as soon as you’re done it’s a party

Nah it doesn’t make you stupider but being in a frat will give you way more reasons to not study or do work. On any given night you’re going to have an opportunity to rage with the boys instead of getting anything done. It’s just up to you if you take it.
