Why do tiers matter so much? I feel like any housed fraternity at IU is a lot better than most at other schools

Exactly, the standard is higher here so people are just inherently more competitive within the tiers. Anyone can be top at a small school, but IU? Not so easy

UIUC’s a wayyy different school though. Almost all instate kids and bars are 19+ so frats don’t dominate as much. Environment around it is not the same

They don’t matter. I’m in a middle tier house and I’ve had so much fun. Tiers are made up so people can feel good ab themselves. Don’t let tiers decide where you wanna rush or who you associate with.

I’m in a low tier/low mid tier house and I think it’s a blast. I love all my brothers and there are hot girls most sororities besides the very bottom

they matter because everyone wants to be in a B6/C4 house. The Big 6 and Core 4 are the most influential houses on campus and pretty much the entire greek system revolves around them
