how do cuts happen

by: hi

so when sororities start making cuts after this round and they have too many girls they liked, how do they decide who they'll actually keep? gpa, looks, friends in the house, where they live, etc.??? what do like the top houses look at

Depends on the need of the house. GPA is the easiest reason to cut if everything else is equal. Otherwise, it’s who fills our needs.
For example, If there are say 5 girls we like but can only keep 1 and let’s say we need potential little 5 riders, we most likely are keeping the one who expressed an interest in riding.

That’s why it’s important for you to express your interest, leadership, philanthropy, IUDM, school or social. We need to fill the voids left by the girls or are graduating.

Each house is given a number each round and that is the exact number of girls they invite back. The number is based on return rates so for example pi phi HAS TO cut a certain number of girls bc so few people choose to rank them lowly this early on so pi phi might only be allowed to invite 1000 girls back to a round that tpa has to invite 1500 back to.

Each house also creates a list each round of girls that will fill the spots of anyone who drops their house so if house abc has to invite 420 girls back to a round but only 400 of those girls did not drop house abc then the top 20 girls from their extra list move up if they wanted to come back and it works thus way every round including pref.

As far as what are the top houses looking for, they look for looks, money, connections, and social media clout but houses make cuts tonight right after the rounds even though you guys don’t get your lists until Friday so there’s nothing you can do at this point that will help with any of that.

This is a very stressful week for pnms and we know that but try to hold out and give the houses that stil want you back for sisterhood round a shot bc if they’re still inviting you back at that point they see something in you and are seriously considering offering you membership so you should consider them just as seriously!

After GPA, they also look at if you’re a legacy, of you had a letter of rec, if you know people in the house, who you knew ahead of time (like genuine friends, not like shared the same class first semester), your conversations, and how you fit in with the individual chapter’s criteria. Again, the only thing you can control at this point is how you behave, so do your best to be nice and friendly and let the rest sort itself out.

Each house has a different policy with legacies and it matters at some houses
