how do chapters make cuts??
by: not having a good timeso, i got my list back for round 2 this morning and i'm kind of struggling. by no means was i expecting a full card, but it was a bit of a blow to my self confidence when i only got invited back to 4 houses. don't get me wrong, i trust it'll all work out in the end and i'm grateful i still have chapters to visit for round 2—chapters that i like, at that—but a lot of the places i got released from i felt like i had great conversations and connected with the girls. i know it's not because of gpa since i have a 3.1, so i was hoping to get some insight on why chapters make the cuts they do?

Believe it or not but some houses may have cut you for GPA. A lot of houses have higher standards than the minimum to go through rush. All things being equal, the girls with lower GPAs tend to get cut first especially in the early rounds.
There are several houses with an average house GPA of 3.4 and higher so your 3.1 could have pushed you down in their rankings even if they really liked you.

So here's the real info:
Unless you walked out of a house feeling like you found your sister that you were separated at birth from, they were a good host and made you feel welcome.
This process is tough and its gonna get tougher!
Don't throw out a house that"s considered "low Tier"
just because you may feel that you are better than that. Those chapters are gonna get better as cool girls join that maybe weren't
a fit for some of the other 'top"houses.
Fact: only 10% of you will get into upper tier.
Greek can be awesome and there are great girls in every singe sorority!
forget about all the tier posters and enjoy this journey...
