why do sororities drop you?

Sometimes it just gets down to only being able to invite about a certain amount of girls and at that point it’s just one girls word over another’s

also we could love talking to you but we’re also thinking about the rest of our sorority sisters and whether or not you’d fit in with them! all of you guys are amazing and i know it’s a brutal process, know that sometime it is also random dumb luck

It's a numbers game so don't take it personally. Houses can only invite back so many and it's their job to make every pnm feel wanted and like they belong.

It’s all about numbers. Every house has a quota that is set for their house for each round on how many girls they can ask back. GPA also can play a part depending on the house. Keep an open mind on the houses you did get back. They saw something special in you with the cuts they had to make.

Between open and philanthropy it’s due to GPA

We work all year long on making sure we have good conversation with PNMs. And sometimes you think there is a connection and you're "clicking" with someone, but they are just being a good hostess. You may be reading more into the situation than there really was. I have had great conversations with perfectly cool girls, but it doesn't mean that we had a connection or that you fit the vibe of my house. I don't mean that in a bad way. For example, you might be really into sports and want to play intramurals, but that isn't our priority as a chapter. We might click more with someone who expressed an interest in leadership positions or being in IUDM.

Also, it's a numbers game. If a chapter is a strong recruiting chapter, they have to release more girls than a chapter that hasn't been a successful at recruitment.

Unless we know you personally, we can’t tell you exactly why you were released from XYZ chapter. There are so many factors that go into finding a PC each year, so do NOT take it personally. In fact, most actives don’t get to know where specific PNMs rank on the chapter’s list so even a sister of that chapter can’t tell you for certain (and anyone trying to tell you they know is trying to make you feel better or is misguided).

It could be GPA (even if your GPA meets the PHA threshold the chapter might have a different requirement), there could be a number of legacy PNMs they have to prioritize, they could have needed a letter of rec and maybe you didn’t have one, they could have really liked you but liked other girls with those extra things just as much, and maybe they liked you but didn’t connect with you the same way but were great recruiters. Who know? But there are SO many chapters here, you can definitely find women you click with in at least one of them.
