please say it gets better

So I’m from a small town up north. I came to IU because it was a larger school and I haven’t really met many people. I’ve made a couple of good friends but we certainly haven’t been out partying much. We’ve met a few frat guys and have been to a few parties. But it is nothing like we expected. Homecoming was supposed to be a huge party week and we all just partied in our dorm rooms. Is this just because we are freshman? And we all plan to rush, we don’t really want to get stuck in a house that doesn’t socialize. We want to meet friends and go out. And we don’t have connections to get us into the upper tier frat parties. Any advice? And before anyone comments, we all have great grades.

yes it does!! damn near transferred after my first semester freshmen year, i know where you’re coming from but definitely wait it out and keep your head up. greek life completely turned around my iu experience for the better but don’t rely on it completely to enhance your social life. so many cool people and opportunities at iu don’t be afraid to explore outside your normal group of people.

Hmmm give it a chance and see if Greek life is good fit for you, too soon to transfer after only one semester and you will meet more people who are going to looking to make friends too
