legacy status sorority

by: Hi

How far does being a legacy get you in a sorority here, even if you’re aunt/mom didn’t go to school here?

Depends on the house. Honestly the best expectation to have is that being a legacy keeps you from slipping through the cracks or being overlooked, but that's about it. From there you still have to be a good fit.

Above is correct. But if you’re legacy (mom, grandma, etc) is active at either the IU or other chapter your odds are better, especially at IU.

The historically older groups (Kappa, Theta, DG, Pi Phi) that have been on campus for a century often have SO many legacies they have no choice but
to cut heavily.
ALL the IU sororities, however, have legacies that rush every year.

As long as you arent super weird or have a low gpa youll probably be good.. or if its a top tier house if you look the part you most likely will get it

Define weird.

Seems like an obscure and all encompassing dismal of a person on shaky grounds...

Sorry, but it holds very little weight. It will probably get you an invite for a legacy event in the fall. Then during recruitment an invite to the second party. After that it holds no weight. Definitely not a guaranteed bid.
