At IU, it doesn't matter what tier you want, you will get what you get. The chapters have all of the power until preference night when you get to rank your first and second choices. The women who fare the best during recruitment are the ones who don't get their hearts set on any one chapter and weigh they options carefully.

There are absolutely lovely, intelligent girls who get a handful of invitations back after open house and then there are average looking girls with average grades who get a full list. Honestly, it's a crap shoot. Best of luck to you.

The rest of the sororities are just kinda there

The best way "to get a feel for the sororities" is to attend philanthropy events hosted by each chapter in the fall. Do not rely on crap you see here. Meet members and find out what they are all about. Talk to women in your classes or around campus in the fall before recruitment. "Ranks" are BS. There are beautiful, fun, smart women throughout Greek life. Find your tribe by really meeting people. Greek Rank tiers are superficial crap.
