If you get invited to pref round at a sorority, does that mean you are on their bid list?

Yes. If you are invited to pref round, you are on their bid list. If they invite you to prefs, they would absolutely want you as a sister. The issues is which list you are on. There is a first list (which matches the # that quota is set at) and a second list (everyone else). So, it just matters how far they have to go down on their list before they hit your name. If they have 130 women back for prefs and quota is 60, the top 60 get bids if they have listed that house first. If one of the top 60 listed another house 1st, then they dip down to #61 on the list, etc continuing all the way down to #130 in order. Hope that makes sense. It is similar to how you rank the houses when you have to make cuts between rounds.

Things change if you are invited to pref AND you are a legacy. Then most—but not all—sororities put you AT THE TOP of their bid lists, guaranteeing you a bid if you list them first.
