what greek life needs to realize

Alum here. I’ve been out of school for a minute but not long enough to not still know people at IU. When I hear about even more fraternities getting kicked, and stats getting the boot, it breaks my heart because what you all need to realize is that it’s not just your pledge class that gets affected- it’s the whole legacy of alumni that are affected as well. Alum can’t go back to IU to show their families where some of their best memories were made, or have a charter to reference for employment, or do reunions at the houses. It’s bigger than just all of you and remember that every year you’re in those chapters. It’s years of HISTORY, and one dumb decision shouldn’t be what ruins it.

TheTruth, what you have to realize is that the administration crackdown on greek life is BS. The "rules" are such that if applied to any non-greek living off campus they would be booted as well. Houses are getting pinched for conduct that is nowhere near "hazing" such as house projects, putting up holiday decor, and driving people to avoid DUIs. Then, if a couple of dudes buy a case at walmart and invite friends over to their off campus apartment, like just about every non-greek in Bloomington, they get hit with alcohol "violations."
