in need of sorority advice
by: HelpI’m rushing next year and I want to know which sorority is better. I am between SK and Phi Mu right now because I am a legacy in both. Please help with the most useful information you have.

I'm going to stop you right there.
Don't come on here for advice. You will see a lot of hate for both of those chapters.
Instead, this coming year, go to their philanthropy events and be observant of girls on campus from all chapters.
Go into recruitment open-minded as being a legacy usually only gets you to the 2nd Round in most chapters. Just remain positive and give every chapter the chance they deserve! You will find wonderful women in every house!

I was also a legacy to two houses and I was dropped from both after the second round. If you go in with your heart set on only two you’re going to have a tough time getting through it. Try to open your mind now and like the above comment said go to their philanthropies but also go to others as well, see what everyone is about.

This is not true and discouraging. Especially with SK and phi mu, they keep girls for longer. Also, phi mu can’t drop legacies they have to take all of them.

No sorority anywhere has to take any legacy. That's a myth. There are a zillion houses here. Don't narrow it down before you even set one foot on campus. So much will change during that first semester and especially when you go through recruitment. Keep an open mind, girls change their minds all the time! And DONT listen to the gossip on here!

It’s really not a myth... phi mu cannot drop any legacies without a lengthy process with their nationals that 99% of the time gets denied. They have to take their legacies, at least at IU.
