chi o future?

Here we are at the end of the year and NOBODY seems to know what’s going on with Chi O. Will they be back in the fall? Are they going to remain on C & D? How many girls will be left after the seniors graduate soon? Or—will they be closed for awhile?
This affects next year’s pairings, Dance Marathon, recommendations for recruitment, etc.

WOW! End of finals week? How will that help with their housing if girls can’t live in the house? Nearly every IU student I know signed apartment leases a couple months ago.
It’s hard to imagine their headquarters couldn’t be more forthcoming....

Most of the girls living in a house are sophomores and juniors who were in the formal PC. They have no formal PC, therefore no one to live in. When are the geeds who come on here going to realize that??

I love all of my friends in chi o, but honestly, I’m not sure if staying on campus would even be what’s best for them. They’ve lost an entire pledge class completely, they will have like what, 30 girls MAX next year for rushing? The girls who got kicked out after member review won’t be living in next year but if they get kicked off they would all be able to be together still. Which I honestly think would make them happier as a whole. I hope the best for them and if they do stay on campus next year hopefully they’ll have a successful rush.

If they stay I’m wondering about rush...just how many upperclassmen will they try to take in the fall—40? 50?
Then there’s formal rush with quota, additions, etc.
It’s a LOT for the girls who are left to process....

Don't get girls' hopes up that XO is going to take part in fall informal recruitment. They aren't. And even if they did, national would be running the show and the type of girls they would choose would not be what XO has been at IU.
XO being a chapter at IU next year has about the same odds as Tom Crean coming back to coach the IU basketball team.

Word’s out—Chi O WILL be allowed to stay—with major restrictions. They’ll be under the guidance of a Hdqtrs. advisor for two years who will be living in the house. NO socials or any alcohol-related activities for TWO years. They may do recruitment under heavy advisement from their alumnae and Headquarters advisor. NO Little 500 till 2022. And, they must attend workshops and file reports with IU student life for two years. They’ll also remain on C & D for the next two years.
They’re close to their 100th year and apparently Chi O nationals gave all kinds of concessions and promises for IU to allow them to stay.

Chio is off c and d not on it for two more years and they will be allowed to pair they just can’t have huge weeks like lil five. Nationals has no say in the girls they pick, the girls who live in get to pick the new recruits and they can rush whenever they want so look out

Sorry but you’re mistaken. Any pairs would NOT include any parties or alcohol. But they WILL be overseen strictly by their alums and a Hdqtrs. rep. All these concessions were worked out with IU by Chi O reps. And if they think they’re going to be rushing their normal pretty wild party girls....they are wrong.
Sure—it’s good they saved the chapter from closing, but it won’t be fun for the next two years. And they WILL be off C and D as soon as fall begins and their National Chi O Rep moves in.
This info and more was sent to Indiana alumnae this evening.

Not true...Nationals will have a say in which women Chi O selects for Recruitment so if you think that Chi O’s going to regain its former glory through picking wild party girls, you’re wrong. And as far as social life goes, Nationals is going to be harsh about that as well. The way that things are looking, Nationals will be running the show, not the undergraduates.

Why would you want a bid from a house with NO social life at all? Do you understand what NATIONAL control will be like? They will not be able to have under the radar parties, they will not be able to have social events. They might as well shut down. If you are willing to live like that you really aren't XO material to begin with.
