why don't you just focus on yourself. wish those doing informals well , and move on. There is very little support for one another top, mid, bottom whatever in IU greek system. Sad there are so many shallow people. Build up your system, you are losing many chapters due to selfish and ignorant people who are doing criminal things to fellow chapter members. Maybe focus on that !

IU Greek system needs to bind together or it will not exist in 20 years .
Every Panhellenic’s goal should be that EVERY chapter makes quota.
Lost DDD and probably losing XO.....then if 2-3 chapters close for lack of #s in next 3-5 years....um MAJOR problem. Down to 20 chapters but based on IUs culture two-three of those chapters will HAVE to be bottom tier ....and more chapters will close.

Under Bed rush 100-300 women went to pref and maximized their options and got no bid at all. So that isn’t the solution.
This year over 200 women who got bids to the ‘top’ 19 chapters
Would not have if there was still bed rush.
BTW quota is set by number of women attending pref divided by number of chapters. It’s not a made up #!.

As "Truth" said, quota is set by the number of women remaining at Pref parties. If more women remained until that round, quota would be higher, if fewer, quota would be lower. It is designed so that every pnm can find a spot and no one is bidless. The problem is that more than 500 pnms drop out every year because they don't get invited back by the "top tier" houses that they think they deserve. They may have been all that in HS, but every women going through recruitment is just as hot, smart, successful etc. They can't get over not being in the "popular" friend group any longer. Therein lies the problem. Until pnms get over themselves, and stick with the process, we will always have chapters that don't make quota.

Until IU has a set chapter total for all chapters as well as quota the system isn’t going to work like it should. It’s like walking around with only one leg in a pair of pants.
Although that being said the person who talked about bringing bed rush back kind of had a point. People who might have enjoyed being in a chapter with smaller numbers where everyone is living in might not enjoy being in a larger chapter. It’s a culture shift that is going to take a few years.

I guess by setting a quota they are kind of trying to set a rough chapter total but I agree they need to set a chapter total for this to work.

Maybe the problem is Panhellenic set the quota too high. I get that we want to be more accepting and all but it makes it harder for the historically weaker chapters to compete. In other words, what’s better for the potential new members might not be what’s best for our chapters. When my sister was here a few years ago, we were still under the bed quota system....maybe moving away from that was a mistake
