Women students who drop out of IU recruitment based on tier rejection see no potential in themselves to be strong, contributing, lifelong members of an NPC chapter. Sad.

A sorority like Delta Phi can help more girls be able to build lifelong relationships throughout colleges who wouldn’t have been able to otherwise. It sucks that people don’t see that because of superficial things.

The funny thing is, majority of girls at IU will only spend 3 years being at IU and in their sorority! By the time you graduate half the PC class is GONE!

The girls in DPhiE are strange and rude to their sisters. They send sisters to standards for wearing letters because they are deemed "not sorority enough." Why would anyone want to join a chapter like that.

I am friends with girls in Delta Phi, and I know their sisters as well, and I do not believe that this is true for one second. The girls in Delta Phi Epsilon are nothing but supportive and kind to their sisters.

You only need to look at Delta Phi's instagram to see how proud these girls are of all of their sisters. Frankly, a lot of chapters at Indiana only feature the hottest girls in their chapter on their social media--we all know that ALL chapters at IU have hot and not hot girls--and many of them only feature the hottest girls on social media. However, here are a handful of chapters whose social media reflects the diversity of their sisterhood, and I would put DPhiE in this category.

If you're talking about the fact that sororities tell girls not to messy in their letters--well, THAT IS EVERY SORORITY. I'm in a different house, I have friends in multiple houses, and we have all received instructions like: "You are representing your sorority in your letters. Don't go out in your letters when you have bedhead or are hungover etc etc."

Just one more thing--are you jealous? Do you feel threatened that your house is COBing and you think that DPhiE is going to get all the PNMs you want?

Because I see no reason for the atrocious hate and outright lies that you guys are posting on this website regarding what is a house filled with wonderful women, and probably the most supportive chapter on this campus. They do not deserve this nasty mudslinging at all.

It would also behoove you to realize that the Greek community at IU is only as strong as its weakest chapter, and that we will all either rise or fall together. If one of our chapters goes down, another is next. Think about it, you know it's true.

Literally no one is worried about that. Just another example of DPhiE delusional idiots.

Mmmkay, actions speak louder than words sweetheart. The fact that you keep hating says a lot. The fact that you resurrected this thread says a lot.

If DPhiE is so irrelevant, why don't you just let them be?

Woah this thread is insane. DPhiE isn’t hot or popular by any measure. While you might say theres a lot of cute girls in the house, the majority isn’t and they do not pair well. Most girls don’t want to go DPhiE, it’s getting to the bottom of the barrel. I wouldn’t have said anything if there wasn’t such blatant sway from the chapter on this thread (this will have at least 50 dislikes) but it’s incredibly obvious to everyone you’re trying to save face on a website most people only visit when they’re drunk. Just be yourself your not a top house accept that.

Obviously you have trouble with comprehension. What most people are saying is give them a chance. Because if they close because lack of membership it makes it easier for IU to get rid of the Greek system as they are losing membership. And not much support from the general population. So instead of bashing other houses maybe build them up. Also there are pretty nice girls in all houses. Also pretty mean girls etc etc.. get off you extra special horse.

This place isn’t to give girls in bad house an ego trip. It’s to express our honest opinions that we wouldn’t otherwise say in public. You make it sound like it’s 50% Hot, 50% Not, while in reality it’s more not. Maybe instead of spreading out and trying to increase “critical mass” we should shrink the community and start focusing on the people that are happy to be in their house and will fight for everyone else. I cannot even begin to tell you how often I see people tattling on other houses to get ahead. We should shrink to get closer.

So you think the Greek community should shrink? Wow!

You sound like a numbskull.

We are allowed to express our opinions just as much as you are, and you are plain wrong. No one on this thread is saying that DPhiE is hot as Alpha Phi or something.

What we are saying is that yes there are cute girls in EVERY house, and yes EVERY house deserves a chance. DPhiE included.

Clearly u don’t understand. I’m saying theyve had their chance. It’s been a long time. At other schools they’d be geeds. There’s a lot of Greek orgs right now and there’s a distinction, this isn’t aimed at DPhiE but at all the T-Shirt clubs out there that call themselves greek orgs. Like other schools the Greek community should be small and inclusive. If there were more geeds it would make off campus life better for them.

Your attitude of superiority is awful. That's not what Greek Life is about, nor should it be. Greek Life is about building a community on campus. And the more inclusive and better we can build that community, the stronger we will all be.

Even the lower tier chapters ARE exclusive, in that they cut people, do not invite everyone back, and choose to whom they want to extend bids. Claiming anything other than that is not just untrue, it's stupid.

Additionally, the reason that there are 26 Panhellenic sororities and that there are so many on all campuses of large schools is that so more women can be included and find a home in one of the houses.

Many sororities were created specifically because women were excluded and couldn't find a home elsewhere (i.e. AOPi, AEPhi, SDT, Theta Phi Alpha, DPhiE, and all the NPHC organizations are examples of sororities that were created to stand against discrimination during a time when most sororities discriminated against people who weren't WASPs).

Your idea of what Greek Life should be isn't in line with the reality of what it is. I honestly doubt you belong to a GLO.
