chi omega- we deserve an answer
by: Alum97’
What happened with XO and why is NO ONE commenting on it. A bunch of alums are in a group chat and we find it despicable that we are not being told! Some of us have daughters rushing this year. Our legacies are ruined. Not to be told until Sisterhood round and have their entire Rush experienced ruined. Making our girls have to go to the Panhellenic office when they ranked and sign something is demoralizing. IU and the Panhellenic and Chi Omega owes us more of an explanation. Cease and Desist. Unbelievable

You don't deserve anything at this point. There is something being investigated and the people or issue being investigated should be kept quiet to protect those that may actually be innocent of any wrongdoing or having their names or reputations dragged through the mud if they did nothing wrong.
In this country we have things like rights of the accused, rights of the victim, rights to privacy. I'm not aware of any right to know because I feel I am entitled to know as an alumni. Not a legal scholar but pretty sure that's not in there.
I'm sure in time what happened or didn't happen will come out. Clearly, National feels something serious happened to put a C&D in the middle of rush. I hate it for all the girls, both actives and PNM's impacted but there is nothing that can be done and people just have to wait until the investigation is over and a decision is made.

Would you rather they have pulled a Tri Delt and let your “DDs” start pledging and then pull the charter in March? The only reason they had to go to the Panhel office was to be told Chi O would not be on their schedule not to be “demoralized.” I hope that you all told your daughters to continue with rush and find a sorority they felt at home in - if they are Chi O material, then surely any chapter would welcome them. Or are you more concerned with “your legacy” than your daughter’s happiness?

Let us all be clear- we as alums are concerned with the legacy of our sorority. We understand fully that our daughters have other options and hopefully it works out how they like. What we do not like is not knowing what happened. We ARE entitled to know as we have invested heavily to Indiana and to the chapter. We ARE professionals who graduated from Kelley and provide internships to those at IU and positions upon graduation. It is clear from various incidents over the course of the last 5 years at least, Panhellenic has issues controlling their houses. It’s ok, we already have spoken to those in the know, and truthfully- if you are suspected of something, the law does not protect your name. Go and do some research ladies. Also, if you’re a member of an organization that does such horrible things and YOU didn’t know about it, it speaks volumes to your sense and sensibility. Wisen up ladies- as employers of major top Accounting, Business and Consulting firms we have people who specifically research this stuff on every single one of our potential hires. So don’t give any of us your holier than thou nonsense. We know a lot more than you.

Jesus is this where the crazy gets let out? To think some of you look and act totally normal outside of this website and not like the rabid animals you sound like now.
I agree that yeah the policy is obviously being enforced across the board now (IE Tridelt and now XO) however, you realize you’re grown adults berating 20 year olds anonymously on the internet? What’re you gonna do, follow all the other chapters around now and rat them out if you feel slighted?
Maybe with a second chapter feeling repercussions for their actions will get it through everyone’s heads after rush that it’s time to shape up.

Grow up and understand that we do deserve answers. Oh and you’re not a lawyer and clearly do not know how things work. The Attorneys around me who just read this laughed at your response. Another Millenial who thinks they know it all.
