what happens bid night?

You get a t-shirt and maybe some cool new swag, you take tons of photos, you might get something to eat, and you’ll get a chance to meet your new sisters! It’s really exciting yes but it’s not as crazy as you probably think it will be. New members won’t be allowed to party until they complete training so if you are taken to a party that night, keep it on the DL 🤫

Assuming you get notified you have a bid, you will go to the tennis courts where you open your envelope and find out who you where invited to join. After a lot of jumping, screaming, crying, etc. typically you then go to your new house where the rest of the members are there to greet you. Here you will do more jumping, screaming, crying, etc. and you probably will get a shirt or sweatshirt from your new home. Don't expect any big raging parties or anything.

Over the next few days you'll learn more about your chapter and get some training. The only thing that I would remind people as you head back to your dorms, remember that there probably is a girl near you that didn't get a bid or was dropped. And always remember. As a member of any chapter when you are out in public with letters on, people will judge not just you, your house but the entire Greek community based on how you conduct yourselves.
