dropping chi o

by: wondering

So is everyone dropping chi omega now? That’s sad for them but seems like the smart thing for PNMS to do if they want a bid night and other sorority things. Seems like it would be so hard to make friends in your new sorority if you can’t even meet as a group

You don’t drop sororities, they drop you.
Chi O will keep inviting PNMs back and will have girls to extend bids to. We will see what happens from there...how many girls decline bids, etc. Chi Onwont be able to COB until the c&d is lifted. This is pretty serious.

Just rank the sorority you like least last... not a guarantee to drop but close enough.

They will not be allowed to COB because COB is not a process that is required. They are only allowed to participate in formal recruitment because it is required of all chapters at IU. A university cannot bar a chapter from participating in formal recruitment per Panhellenic National Bylaws.

Formal recruitment is not required of any NPC chapter. If their national chooses not to participate that’s up to them. A Panhellenic can bar a chapter from participating in formal as it is a function run by Panhellenic; however, the chapter can offer bids to women outside the formal recruitment process. That is part of freedom of association laws.

They’d be dead last on my list. Too much drama and negativity! Who needs that?!

Plus, things will be weird from the get-go. No pledge party, official meetings, NOTHING for who knows how long?
Yes, it IS SAD for them. But the girls have screwed themselves. You should not choose Chi O and be brought into their mess.

Remember everything you like about them is now in flux. Be smart and brave—go elsewhere and become part of an enjoyable NORMAL sisterhood experience!

Rules changed this year and new members can’t go to pairs until they’ve had training anyways so you’ll get to find out if your new house follows the rules or not lmao

And really really look at what is going on with Zeta. They are likely to be closed by their nationals soon. WATCH YOUR RANKINGS.

This is just not true. If zeta hasn’t been kicked yet they’re not getting kicked. They literally already had their review in September and nationals decided they were fine. Quit spreading lies about something you know nothing about

My Mom is a ZTA and when I went through recruitment last year she WARNED me NOT to pledge there because they were nothing but trouble. They are not off the hook nationally, they are still under national probation and will be throughout next semester. It does not mean that they can't have social events, it just means that they are being watched VERY carefully. They are on thin ice.

More opportunities for girls who know how to conduct themselves and value what a sorority really is. Karma

What's the big picture? If PNMs are not going to ChiO, what will be the effect felt throughout the system?

Just to update: everyone DOES KNOW NOW that Chi O will NOT be finishing rush and taking a pledge class, right?

Their Hdqtrs. nixed that tonight at about 6 pm. I’m sure Panhellenic is figuring that out and every lady who was going back to CHI O will get another chance to pref.

Not sure what they did, but it must have been BAD....
