why not switch up pairs every once in a while?
by: Just curiousWhy do houses only pair with certain houses over and over. Y’all go to the same parties over and over. Why not pair with a house below or above your teir to meet new people. Ya maybe all the houses don’t look like pi phi or beta but partying with different houses and meeting new people could be fun. With the new rules putting a limit on frat hopping I don’t understand why we don’t change the way we pair sometimes.

This is a question to be posed in a forum that can actually initiate that change. If IFC and Panhel vote on a proposal to rotate pairs and/or Lil 5 partners, etc it would have a real chance of happening. Talking about it on GR is not going to change our culture. And groups would need to have the respect for others to attend the pairs and not boycott because they think the assigned pair is "below" them. As Bucky said, it would entail some maturity to make it happen. I would propose trying it with 3 or 4 pairs a semester vs. completely overhauling the system. People would probably be surprised with the results.
