informal recruitment

So there a few houses probably doing informal, ask ur Rho gams about it they should know a little bit. I’d really recommend sticking out the rest of recruitment regardless of ur list. You need to be open minded, I didn’t end up loving the chapter I’m in now till 3 party because that’s when you truly get to see a chapter is during 9 and 3 or now 2, you never know how much you may fit into a sorority till you try. You can informally rush after formal rush if you don’t accept a bid on bid night or drop or whatever, but once you accept a bid you cannot rush another sorority till the next year.

I am going to be brutally honest. Do not drop and count on a bid through informal this year. The chapters you may not like right now are the ones most likely to be doing informal. Last year was an anomaly. AGD will not be taking 75 members to fill their addition. ZTA will not need 80 women to cover all of the drops from the year before. Also, DDD is gone. The odds of anyone doing informal is slim to none, unless they don't make quota.

Also, if a chapter cut you after 16, they are not going to suddenly be interested in you after recruitment. Stick out recruitment until the end. Pref is a game changer and you may see things in a chapter you did not see before. Go to pref. If after pref, you are still not sure then drop. Keep in mind, informal is never a given, so don't expect it.

Most PNMs drop to avoid the lower tier chapters. You know who's most likely to do informal? Yeah – the lower tier chapters. Stick with who you have and be dam happy they're interested in you. IU is a tough recruitment. Be glad you're still in the game.

Follow what all are saying. I think this year COB is going to be very limited. Unless there is a mass exit by PNM before pref night!

Also, rushing as a sophomore is tough. All those houses that cut you this time are going to cut you next year too. Most houses take very few sophomores because you will only be living in the house for 2 years max versus a freshman that could live in for 3. You'll end up with the same list you have now. Be open minded, make an effort to get to know the girls and you may find you like a house you've been looking down on.

Chapter who do end up doing informal will not know until after recruitment. They usually only invite those who stuck with them the whole time as well.

i agree with the people above. informal is literally only used to make quota. chi o is not someone you will ever see do an informal. if anything, most of the sororities that you want and maybe got dropped from will be handing out snap bids.

just stick it out and trust the process
