iu sorority rush 2013-2014

by:

I'm going to be a freshman in the fall and am interested in rushing. I've heard a couple of times now that the sororities will not be doing any pre-recruitment events for next formal recruitment. I was going to get recs because I am in state but not many girls from my area go through rush so I only know 1 girl who is currently in a house at IU. Should I still get recs or is it not worth it since there won't be pre-recruitment activities? Thanks for any advice you can give me.

Some sororities do pre recruitment, some do not. The only way to do so is to be somebody's guest. So once you begin to meet more girls, I'm sure you will go to more than just one.

In my opinion, recs can't hurt. I don't think they give a lot of help, but in no way will they hurt your chances of anything, so I say go ahead and get some recs to send in. Just make sure you get involved immediately on campus so you can list that when you sign up for rush. (IUDM, BMOC, SAB, etc.)

A lot of girls rely on their high school activities but they wanna see what you put into college life right away.

Good luck girly :)

Thank you so much I'm going to start looking up your suggestions! I had heard tho that Panhel (?) has said that there should not be anymore pre-recruitment events for any sorority anymore or at least not for the next formal rush. Not sure why but a guess I ran across was that since there are 2 sororities without a house that pre rush activities might be unfair to them? Anyway thats what im hearing don't really know. Thanks Again!
