How hard is it to get into a top tier sorority as a sophomore?

If you're good looking, put together and have a friendly personality then you'll be fine. There's always one or two girls who rushed as sophomores in every top house

I wouldn't get your hopes up. Most of the time we drop sophomores because we have "seen them around the block" or they aren't open enough to take on sisterhood. It'll make us wonder why you're not already in a sorority. We'll take maybe one or two, but the competition is high so don't fixate on the top tier. Have a backup plan!

Totally agree on the seen around the block part. A lot of times sophomores already have a reputation. Unless you haven't done anything stupid, sIutty or sloppy at any parties or formals, I wouldn't count on getting a bid.

Funny that you ladies hold the Sophomores to a higher standard than yourselves haha.

^It makes it seem like they are joining to party and not for sisterhood. We are already sisters, why would we want a social climber? Should've rushed as freshmen like everyone else.

We have all seen how the older girls in AXiD act. Why would any sorority want that kind of girl? Rush as a freshman or don't be upset when you don't get the house you want as a sophomore or older.

That's completely wrong! The reason girls in AXiD act the way they do is because they're ALL new to greek life. They don't have older girls or a big who can guide them and teach them what it means to be a sorority girl. So someone rushing as a freshman or sophomore would essentially be in the same boat and will have girls in the pledge class before her to guide them on what is expected of them as a member of that sorority.
