gamma phi beta and scottsdale
by: New MemberYou know how most of the girls in Gamma Phi Beta are from Scottsdale, is that true of the other sororities too? Or do other sororities have girls from a certain place that they like? If you aren't from Scottsdale, do you have a chance?

gphi has a lot of girls from all over AZ / CA / parts of chicago and pretty much all over... Alpha Phi on the other hand only likes girls from Scottsdale..they obviously have girls from other places but there is a clique of them who makes other girls who aren't from scottsdale excluded

The majority of GPhi is from Scottsdale & other parts of Arizona. That's a known fact.

it's been said out loud by lots of alpha phis who joined and were NOT from scottsdale that they feel excluded. they are WAY too cliquey. yeah obviously they have girls from other places but its like they are trying to push all others out if you didn't go to a certain high school. its honestly weird

it honestly is WEIRD. i went to high school with that group (desert mountain hs) and they literally all knew they wanted to join aphi in high school and still only are friends with each other and havent met anyone new. why even join a sorority? why even move away to college? why not all stay at home in scottsdale and commute to ASU? i dont get it. that group of girls has always been cliquey, and honestly it made me not like alpha phi during recruitment because i knew all those girls were going to be in alpha phi. i ended up in a "middle" tier house instead of a "top" one, and i love it. my house may be "ranked" lower, but at least i made new friends...

i'm an incoming freshman at desert mountain hs and it is true, all girls going to UA do talk about sorority life before graduation. a lot of us do want to join alpha phi because we know other girls in that sorority and they have such a great time but we are just excited for the whole process in general . so i don't think they exclude people but it's just because a lot of girls from scottsdale attend UA! i am sure they don't "exclude" girls who didn't go to desert mountain that seems extreme.....

ridiculous that anyone would think this is even remotely true...so what..a group of maybe 5-6 girls were friends in high school, went to the same college in their own home state and are now in the same sorority and are still friends...is this really supposed to be weird and shocking?? GROW UP. those girls are so sweet and don't deserve this nonsensical hate.

half of alpha phi's latest pledge class came from the same high school and same friend group. it's like they all came to college with zero intention of branching out.
