monthly dues

by: Money

On average, how much does it cost monthly to be in a sorority? Like with shirts and stuff that they force you to buy and any other expenses.

Every house is soooo absolutely different but this is my house. And one of the sets all the houses explain the prices to you. So, our dues include an already fixed budget for clothes, and if we go over that budget of about $500 we have to buy the rest of the clothing with our credit cards. If we don't spend that money we get it back at the end of the year. The most expensive bill you'll pay is your one time new member fee and then after that everyone pays the same, which is about $3,000 a semester. If you live in then its a little more but that includes all your meals, wifi, TV, etc. It's such a good idea to live in if you can you save so much money, and you'll have the best experience possible. In my house we can speak with our nationals and set up payment plans to accommodate with our monthly income if need be. I also had a scholarship, which covered half my dues and I knew a couple of other girls who didn't have to pay anything! There are lots of cool things about joining a sorority other than just paying for so much, but you really benefit!

The membership costs for every house is listed on the UA Greek Life website: greek.arizona.edu/prospective/costs-membership

The average dues for new sorority members is about $2,200 per semester, which includes some meals (9-15 meals per week) and not including housing.
