grades

by: pnm...

I have a 2.8 GPA, and will be attending U of A. I know it's been said on here that a GPA below a 3.0 matters as far as your options go, but it doesn't mean you won't get a bid. So I'm figuring I have no shot at Pi Phi or A Phi but could I get into a lower sorority like maybe Kappa, Chi O, or DG if all goes well when rushing?

honestly, probably not.. maybe chi o..MAYBE. that's the thing with this school. you will see sororities ranked top, middle and lower tiers, but UA is full of gorgeous girls with great personalities and you will find them in every house. Kappa and DG aren't "ranked" as high as say Pi Phi, but they surly get their fair share/decent selection of PMS with the total package. -- Also..more importantly STOP worrying about tiers and trust the system and you'll end up where you are supposed to be.

Definitely not Chi O. They're the strictest with grades.

I rushed with a 2.8 and I had a full schedule every day of rush but still ended up in a bottom tier house. I was upset at first but I absolutely love my sorority even though we aren't top tier.

Don't worry about where you might end up. That's what rush week is for. You'll find out where you belong come August.

"lower sorority like maybe kappa chi o or dg"...these definitely aren't considered "lower" kappa only accepts 3.3 and above and chi o is the most strict on grades, so that's definitely a no go.
