sororities? big pledge classes, but smaller chapt

How come the sorority pledge classes are around 100 girls, but the total chapter size is around 280 or so--does a whole class drop out? transfer? quit Greek Life? I don't get it.

Lots of girls drop out. Senior classes are usually around 20-40 girls. But also keep in mind that pledge classes are increasing in size every single year.

Yeah the pledge classes 4 years ago were not even 90 girls. Lots things happen. From each pledge class a few girls drop out freshmen year for different reasons like transferring schools for whatever reason, don't like being in a sorority, don't give their sorority a chance and just decide they don't like it, didn't realize how expensive it was, etc. Then over the next few years the same kinda reasons plus school gets more time consuming as people end up in their colleges and stuff. Lots different reasons! :)
