depends on the house youre a legacy to and you yourself. every house has different bylaws. some are required to take legacies no matter what. some don't have to take you. depends on that first of all then it depends on you like your personality and cuteness etc.

No sorority is required to take legacies. That's a bald face lie. Legacy status may get you an invite to the second round but that's it. No sorority is required to give a bid to anyone they don't think will fit in just because she's a legacy.

Okay maybe it's not in the by laws and not a "requirement", BUT even houses that aren't "required" sometimes receive pressure from above to take legacies even if they do not want them. You're telling me that a house who has a girl come through that is a double legacy, an older sister who was the chapter's president, etc. is not going to receive a bid? HA. Oh, and in some houses, if a legacy is invited to pref then they are guaranteed a bid. So maybe not exactly how I put it, but the chances are pretty in your favor when you are a legacy. I am pretty sure it's rare that a house does not bid a legacy.

Yes, and those legacies where the house has to take them if she goes to preference get dropped right before preference. No one will pref a legacy unless they're 100% sure they will want her as a sister.

Big legacies get dropped all the time. It truly is about how you will fit in. My house is one of the supposed top houses and we drop "important" legacies all the time. We have tons of legacies coming through and could take up way too much room in our pc if we decided to take them all.

Being a legacy really only means you'll get a pass to the next round. Unless you fit in you should never assume you'll automatically get a bid.

Being a legacy will not guarantee your membership in any house. Some houses take them more seriously than others but you need to join a house where you truly belong. Just because that house was the right fit for your mom or grandma doesn't mean its the right house for you. We took a quadruple legacy and she ended up not being happy. Just follow your heart and the rest will fall into place.
