rush
by: Southern PNMI'm rushing in the fall, and I am a double legacy to two sororities, but not specifically at the chapters here. I am a little in the dark about the way Greek life differs here than from the systems in the SEC, which is where I'm from & what I have been around. I have the grades, pretty but I wouldn't say amazingly so (not going to lie), can hold a conversation and have fun, I'd say I'm generally good all around, better in some areas more than others. I don't know anyone tho, and that worries me. Any advice, tips, or similar experiences? Thanks y'all

Rush is not like the south at all here. You will be fine don't worry... relax it's chill wayyyy more chill than how youre imagining. Trust meee :) You will be okay just relax and get excited!! It's a very fun and exciting week. As long as you keep an open mind be yourself, and put effort into your appearance. It's gonna be a lot if small talk and you won't be giving a whole biography about your life and all of the things you excel in. Just when you do talk about yourself try to make it memorable like if you talk about what you did over summer mention a place you went on vacation to and tell a funny story... you get the idea!

Do NOT feel obligated to join the house(s) you are a legacy to. Some girls in my house, who are legacies, should not have joined our house just because they do not mix with the overall personality of the house. I feel as though their greek experience would have been better if they joined a house they felt more comfortable in. The legacies don't have many friends other than other legacies in the same boat. And don't get me wrong they are such sweet girls and great sisters I just believe they would have been more happy elsewhere. Most chapters have policies of accepting every legacy.

Just like how top houses in the SEC take mostly in-state girls, the top houses at UA tend to take mostly girls from Arizona and the West Coast.
