That's great that you don't mind being around other people who drink, but tbh, people who like to drink don't necessarily like to drink around someone who doesn't drink. (Not the DD or designated sober person, but someone who just never drinks.) It's uncomfortable because you feel like you're being judged. Also, if you're just coming to college from high school, you have NOT been around people who drink. College students are much heavier drinkers and rage much harder and you will not enjoy being at frat parties on a regular basis if you're sober. And the drunk people will not like having you around.
Also, it's huge part of Greek culture. Parties, drinking, etc. Sorority girls can get away with not drinking and its fine, but to frat guys who don't drink, why even rush? Whats the point?
Moral of the story: No one likes a buzzkill.

I wouldn't rush if you're a girl and don't drink. Like it or not, you won't bond with other girls and then won't like the sorority and want to drop. YEs we have values but when we hang out together 50% times we drink and no one likes to be around someone that doesn't. You'll feel like an outsider
