Usually 3.00 from high school, 2.5 from college.
Your opinions drop significantly if you have below this.

The official minimum is 3.0 but sororities will often take lower. If you're below a 2.5 you probably don't have much of a shot.

They say it's 3.0 high school, 2.75 college but they are guidelines not hard rules.

That said, if your GPA is at or below the minimums your chances are not good. There are a ton of PNM's to choose from and not a lot of sororities, comparatively, So, the sororities have the leverage. Supply and demand,

That's actually not how it works. The amount of PNMs is irrelevent. Recruitment and RFM is designed to evenly distribute the PNMs amongst the house. Houses with high return rates (top houses) have to cut the highest percentage of PNMs, and houses with low retention rates (bottom houses) get to make the least amount of cuts. The idea that "there's so many pnms to choose from so tons of people will be left out of a bid" is nonsense.

Isn't that pretty much what I said? A PNM who comes in as a grade risk is at a huge disadvantage among any of the top houses, and even puts her at risk of getting cut by a bottom house when there are other girls who aren't such a huge risk, all else being equal. Even though the lower tiered houses don't have to make such deep cuts it doesn't mean PNM's with poor grades aren't immune when there are others to fill a pc.

You referred to it as "supply and demand" which I guess didn't make a lot of sense to me.

My point was that anyone who stays in recruitment, doesn't drop out, and maximizes their options will get a bid somewhere. If you have a low gpa, your chances of getting a house you like are slim to none. But there's like a 1% chance you won't get a bid at all.
