why do so many people drop?

It's not just sigma kappa, but it's the top houses too. Why do so many of the hottest girls drop from aphi piphi gpgi dg kkg? Do the girls all of a sudden grow brains, a sense of autonomy, and the ability to think for themselves? Or were they always like that and just chose to be fake for there time in the sorority? Genuinely curious

don't forget that U of A is an easy school to get into but not as easy a school to stay in. Something like 1 in every 5 freshmen do not return for sophomore year. Out of a PC of 100, that's like 20 girls right there.

Please. Academics is not the problem for sororities and the dropout rate is far lower than 1 in 5. Panhellenic's GPA is a solid B+ and way above the all-womens and total undegraduate GPA. Sorority members also have the best balance of school and extracurricular involvement, tend to scoop up the best summer internships and make up a disproportionate ratio in Bobcats, Chain Gang, Phi Beta Kappa and the other honoraries.

This is partly due to standards, tutoring, mandated study hours and study groups but also because Greeks tend to take on the fluff majors like comms, psych, business, retail or some other garbage major. Not many astrophysicists, mechanical engineers or math majors in the Greek system. But I digress, grades are not the issue.

How judgmental and naive of you to write this! Girls in the greek system are required to maintain a certain GPA and are given ample networking, volunteer and leadership opportunities. The ones who choose to stay or are not let go by their sorority for certain reasons graduate with additional skills and experiences provided by that sorority. You choose to judge based on the Instagram accounts and the partying where girls who are not in sororities party just as hard and love the social media attention just as much! Greek life is not for everyone. If you can't handle it try not to make ignorant statements about it!
