rushing as a sophomore

by: JJ

I went to a community college for the last two years but because of my credits I will be considered a sophomore at U of A this upcoming year. Im young for my grade so im only 19 years old. I know there's a lot more that plays into being apart of a sorority but would houses still consider me as a sophomore? And also does being a legacy actually help or does that not matter?

Yes, houses will consider sophomores. But only if you have other good things going for you as well. If you're gorgeous, have good grades, and are friendly and nice, you'll be fine.

Also, these questions need to stop. Less than %1 of girls get dropped from every house during recruitment. And that number contains girls who suicided, girls who are older than 22, and girls who break the rules during rush. It does not include 19 year old girls who transfer from community college.

If you hear about girls getting "dropped" from rush and they seem somewhat normal, they're lying. The got dropped from the houses they wanted or liked so decided to stop rushing. I see this happen ALL the time.

Also, no, being a legacy doesn't hold as much value as it did when our moms went to college. But it really depends on which sorority you're a legacy to. Every sorority has different legacy policies. It's not something we can speak universally about.
