sorority rec letters

will getting a rec letter help you get a bid to a sorority or is it not very important? i've heard mixed things

People in sororities who say rec letters do nothing have no idea what goes on behind the scenes during recruitment. Yes, rec letters help. But no, they will not get you a bid. They'll help you get to the second round AT MOST. After that, they don't do much other than let the houses know a little more about you so they have a better idea of who to match you up with during rush.
