springs transfer/ rush
by: TransferHey guys so I'm a freshman who's going to be transferring to u of a in the spring. I should've gone in the fall but there was a death in the family right before and I couldn't just get up and leave. However I can't put my life on hold any longer and will be transferring to u of a in the spring. I don't know anybody and don't want to wait until I'm a sophomore to rush so I want to spring rush. All my best friends are in sororities and so was my sister. But I hear that most sororities don't spring rush? Which ones usually do? My sister was a kappa I don't know if they spring rush and all my best friends are pi phi, theta, DG or alpha phi at their schools. Do any of those spring rush?

Is there no way any of those will do spring rush? I really don't want to have to wait until I'm a sophomore to rush, it's harder and just sucks since I should've gone during the fall this year. I'm just trying to move past the unfortunate events and start my life here but I genuinely don't know anybody and I want to rush and find what my friends in other schools have as soon as I can.

You should just rush in the spring! Honestly i think what matters the most is if you get along with the girls and can see yourself making life long friends in the sorority. at the end of the day, being in a "top tier" sorority really isn't important, what's important is that you choose a house that makes you happy.
the best advice i can give you is check out the sororities that rush in the spring and just see how you feel about them, you might end up finding the perfect house for you!

The chances are very low. If you want to be in any of those sororities I would recommend trying to become friends with some of the girls just so you'll be good for the fall.
