how to cope at sdt

I had them through Philanthropy last year, so I made up a lot of alarming "fun facts" about myself and something must have worked. If you get them past philanthropy, stop at nothing. They will talk to you in groups of 2 or 3. If everyone is on board, I would suggest the Silent Humming Trick. As they talk to your group, hum softly in unison. When they stop, y'all stop. Continue until it gets sufficiently weird.
Make up some games. Get creative. If someone asks you a personal question, say you can't answer it because you're a mermaid or other mythical creature. End with an awkward silence. The next girl in your group can respond to the question with something more outlandish.

Turn to stare at one of the SDTs standing on the side. Do not move your gaze. Just stare, the whole time. Bring a friend in on this, if you can. A subtle version of t
If you get to prefs, Panic Round begins. Now's the time to whip out more extreme tactics. If you are somewhere personal enough in the space where not many people can see, even better. As soon as a question is asked, begin tapping your head and muttering "shut up in there! All of you! Shut up in there!" You can also opt to have loud conversations with your multiple personalities and bring them in. You can engage a friend at your table if she is there too. She can bring in hers.
They will never want you back. This is what they get for stomping into recruitment.

It isn't technically bad manners to do any of these things. There's a difference between being rude and being eccentric. They just have to get used to your "quirks" :) I mean, it could be real.
Some girl could indeed have 50 tiny smurfs walking around in her head telling her things.
DON'T HATE. SDT IS ALL ABOUT THE HIGHEST DEGREE OF TOLERANCE AND ACCEPTANCE, AMIRITE

have a little compassion. can you imagine being an active in sdt and having to talk to a thousand girls knowing that 99% of them don't want to be there? it's going to be a nightmare for them. most actives had no say in the decision to participate in formal recruitment and i'm sure that a lot of them are dreading it. be nice, gracious, and polite, it's not like it's that hard. if you do what op described you are a mean and selfish person. op, i sure as hell hope you're not in my sorority.

Just tell them that you are looking for a different experience and want to be in another house. I did that when I went through, the girl I was with told me she appreciated my honesty and understood. Apparently a lot of people did that.You can be honest and kind at the same time.

I'm sure they don't want you back. The system will invite you back despite what they want because they have such a low return rate.

I agree that kind of behavior is downright cruel, but unfortunately Pi Phi does not have a monopoly on egocentric, immature "mean girls"
