getting to know sororities before rush

I will be going through rush in August and know some girls in current houses from my high school but many of them are older (current sophomores or juniors). Will I get overlooked if I don't know current freshman? How do the sororities decide or vote on who gets invited back? I assume they already have their lists of girls they know of and want to recruit. And at this point, is it too late to reach out to girls? Is that considered inappropriate or against the rules? Thanks for your thoughts.

Honey, the current freshmen don't have a clue yet, they haven't gone through recruitment as members. In every sorority it is a chapter decision on who to invite back and the sophs and juniors are the ones who know what's going on and are the real leadership. The older, respected members get listened to when pnm's are discussed. Reach out now to anyone you know in chapters.
