sororities for non-texans?

by: Californian

Is there any houses that girls from elsewhere are likely to rush? I know at other schools some sororities attract more "coasties" (LA/NJ/NY/FL etc.) than others.

As in Los Angeles or Louisiana? It seems a little odd to group Southeast states like Louisiana and Florida with NY and NJ. Most Southern schools that have "Coasty" groups are more Southeast than Northeast coast. There are people from all over in all the sororities, but they're all still majority in-state.

First off, only SoFla is "coastie" (whatever that means) cause it's near the ocean, but seriously Florida is a southern state. There's a big difference between a OOS girl from another southern state, and an OOS girl from the other ones you mentioned.

Southern Florida is a bit Jersey Shore, but Northern Florida is Deep South territory like East Texas or Louisiana, which they also mentioned. Pretty big difference between say New York or California and Louisiana or Florida.

SoFla is just a different kind of southern. The south is diverse. Florida is a southern state!

Okay Louisiana and Florida are southern states! Big difference between southern and northern! But if you have style, class, and are able to embrace the southern belle within you (no matter where you're from) you will have a great recruitment and find where you belong.

simple answer is that all will have girls from out of state. None will have a concentration from a specific area outside Texas.
