Umm, yes. PKT is very exclusive at UT. Unless your mom or grandmother was one at UT....or you are from Highland Park or Memorial or River Oaks....and/or went to the right camps, I wouldn't even bother with recs. If you have a chance with these groups, you probably already know it.
