parties freshman how tf does it work

i’m a freshman an in confused af all my friends r on how rush works. ok so i thought everyone already rushed in the fall?? like pc 23 (freshman srats), bc how r some of the girls in my classes freshman but already pledged/are part but other ppl r saying they couldn’t have bc pledge is rn. also what happens to parties during rush does anyone throw during them or is it all just mixers for their pnms, like why r all the freshman party gcs closing rn how do i get inv 😭😭 i don’t want to rush tbh but i will if that’s the only way to party. like why did dsig close their gc
