why are bottom sororities considered bottom?

By: pnmq
by: Pnm help desk

It’s a really unregulated system tbh. Usually it’s based on a whole bunch of factors like
- historical reputation
- party reputation
- general attractiveness
- overall vibe
- overall personality

That being said- they’re really arbitrary. If you really vibe with one go for it. Remember you’re picking a sisterhood not a rank

It’s not personality as someone else said. There are about 200 girls in a srat. They don’t all have the same personalities. It’s super shallow. Its looks. Full stop. And for some, less attractive girls in the tops it’s because they know someone or are super wealthy.

Do I have a chance at top or upper mid sororities if I’m rushing as a sophomore?

By: Pnm
by: Anonymous

Every sorority is supposed to rush equally but unfortunately top sororities are rumored to dirty rush, which means they know they want before rush starts. Just be yourself and you will end up where you belong <3

The tops almost exclusively choose freshmen. You might have a chance with the upper mids if you rush really well tho!

Drop the ones you didn’t vibe with! Definitely base it off of your own experience and not what others say. At the end of the day you have to be around them, so make sure they’re people you want to be around!

How expensive is it really?

By: Cali pnm
by: Pnm help desk

I’m not gonna lie. It is expensive. All the sororities will have a financial presentation during sisterhood round. However, there are hidden costs:
- cost to attend events
- Cost of hair and makeup
- Cost of dresses
- Cost of recruitment outfits
- Cost of sorority branded clothing
- Fee for missing events (meetings+ etc)
- Fee for not reaching a donation quota (not a lot do this, but basically if you’re required to raise $50 and you don’t. You have to pay $50 or the remainder)

So, we had to cut four houses, how many people do the top houses cut for this phase?

By: Question
by: Pnm help desk

These numbers are kept top secret so no one really knows, but for this round at least 50%

Drop for houses depend on their return rates. For instance if Kappa Beta has a 99% return rate among PNM’s then they will be releasing way more PNM’s than let’s say Beta Beta who had a 75% return rate . So one may be dropping 400 and another only 100 this round. This all will depend on the popularity of each house among the PNM’s this year .
