don’t rush as a sophomore unless you have the means to live as if you were a freshman

It’s hard. Unless you know girls in the sorority or would actually like to be friends with a bunch of freshmen

i have perspective on both sides of this.

i joined my sorority through COB as a sophomore -- it's more common for non-freshman to go this route. it was really easy for me to join and i ended up getting into the sorority i really wanted to and literally it is no different than if i were to have joined as a freshman through primary. yeah, i missed out on basically a year with my chapter, but they still made me feel so welcomed regardless of my year.

primary wise -- one of my best friends in my chapter rushed as a sophomore. she got in. it obviously depends on the chapter, some of them are more strict on that, some literally do not care. all i have to say is that if a sorority drops you because you're a sophomore, that place probably wasn't meant for you and it's probably for the best.

tbh it only matters if you have no intention of living in the house, since most srats have housing quotas they have to meet - but also, I totally recommend living in regardless of year bc that’s partly how u make the rly close connections!
