How do big/littles work

I’m new to all this. How do they work? Do we all get one when we join a sorority, if so when?

it is a mutual process. you and your big have to pick each other

basically as you are learning about ur sorority u go one coffee dates and get to know the sophmore class better and then you choose who you like and the sophmores choose who they like and girls get paired.
