Change is in the air: lower tier sororities rising
by: Luke Ford
Ppl change is happening right now on campus, and so called top tier srats like phi kappa and axo are dropping quicker like ducks going after june bugs.
Why you may ask?
Allow me to break it down if you will:
Phi: google doc, enough said
Kappa: racism
AXO: white only policy and institutionalized discrimination towards minorities
Call me trolling call me whatever, but as a community we are no longer going to tolerate this type of behaviour and allow ppl on campus to feel uncomfortable, unwelcome, and less than. \n\n\n\n\n

Literally look at axo’s ig. They have a fair amount of non-white members. I’m not saying POC don’t do greeklife but, overall, they tend to be less interested. Probably due to factors like family legacy, what they pictured college being like based on what they’ve heard from family and friends, and the misconception that people want to keep greeklife whitewashed. I guarantee that if you ask a non-white member of a sorority if their parents did greeklife, they are more likely to say no than if you ask a white member. That is likely due to a status quo that hasn’t been challenged until recent history. There is now a considerable amount of POC in greeklife and I really believe that once our generation starts sending our kids to college, you’ll see wayyy more diversity. Ideally that would already be the case but more POC need to be exposed to it for that to happen.
