Bc tiers are about being attractive to other high tier fraternities, and being from LA/NYC/somewhere more exotic than some small Michigan town is more attractive to people
Is it unfair? Yeah but that’s just how rush works lol. Stop paying attention to tiers and you’ll be happier. Nobody in real life actually cares about them

sweetie if you haven’t figured it out yet...how attractive you are isnt the sole and only factor of what chapter you end up in. there’s other things to consider besides hometown/attractiveness like...maybe...get this...personality

^ 100%. Rush is mostly about how well you can talk/seem likable/
confident/presentable to a variety of people, and to be blunt, rich out of state girls from big cities get more practice at that than girls who mostly grew up in one town. Michigan girls can still be good at that, but if you grow up used to LA/NYC social scene stuff, it's obviously a big help.
Before anyone gets mad at me, I'm from a small town in the midwest. Also, the most important part that "@yoyo" is forgetting: rush/tiers/your looks literally do NOT define who you are as a person!!

Because being out of state suggests that you’re wealthy, especially at a school with $60k+ tuition a year. It’s a hard but sad fact that this school is pretty elitist and many people here prefer to associate with those of the same socioeconomic status. Also rush isn’t a perfect process, there are attractive girls in every chapter and it’s dumb to think it’s weird that some hot girls get cut from top sororitys.

it just seems like with this last rush some girls who are way more "conventionally attractive" by sorority terms than some out of state girls got cut. i was shocked by how many good looking girls got cut from their top houses and the common denominator was that they weren't out of state. i figured physical attractiveness would matter more to these higher tier sororitys and frats than where daddy and mommy live..?
