The university announced there will no longer be formal rush in the fall. This year was an anomaly as a transition year in the conversion from formal rush taking place in the fall and moving to winter moving forward.

Rush is very expensive and time consuming for the chapters. It’s not feasible to hold rush 2x a year.

There may be the chance to COB on your own by reaching out to chapters but there typically are only a few spots that open up. The more competitive chapters have even fewer. Typically many chapter nationals also put limits on how many sophomores can be added to pledge classes so rushing as a sophomore in winter will also be a tougher “get” unless you are super “hooked” and even then that is not a solid guarantee. This is fairly standard across the board.
