how do cobs work?

What’s the process? I suicided and I’m just curious what the process would look like if I don’t make it in and end up COBing

Not true. She can COB if she is not matched. Doesn't matter if she suicided or not. However, COB is not very common and there are generally very few COB spots available after a formal recruitment.

If you do not get a bid, watch for which sororities announce COB events. You should also contact the panhel recruitment chair and let her know that you are interested in that information when it becomes available, or to get on a list for girls interested in COB.

If you signed your MRABA, you won't be able to COB for a year, even if you suicided. Also, the houses that dropped you will very likely not reconsider you unless huge things change between now and when you can COB.

This is incorrect.

If a PNM suicides, but does NOT get a bid, she can COB.

The MRABA is only binding for one year if the PNM is matched to a sorority. If she is not matched and goes bidless -- even if she single intentional preferences one group (suicides) -- then she is eligible for COB.

The only thing she is NOT eligible for is to be a quota addition.
