going into prefs
by: pnmok so i preffed 2 houses but im a little nervous about them inviting me back to prefs on sunday. if i made it this far with and had pretty good conversations, how likely is it that they ask me back? how many girls do most sororities drop by this round?

It really really depends on the chapter. Many variables and not necessarily a clean mathematical equation. This is a unique equation house to house. The more competitive are pref’d at a high percentage therefore it makes it such that they don’t have to go as deep into their greater list/ depth chart if you will to build their pledge class. The lesser competitive become more likely. UMich Panhellenic stated it was very unlikely for PNM’s not to be matched if they complete recruitment and do not suicide one chapter at the end. It is true, certainly, that not everyone gets their 1st pref. It is also not unheard of to not receive a bid depending on how your chapter lists played out. It’s very important to trust the process and maintain an open mind.

And, it is unlikely you would be dropped from rush totally. You just may not get asked back to your preferred 2. It also would depend on which sororities you have left and how you have them ranked. The more competitive sororities are certainly not a “sure thing” to expect to visit for pref parties. It could be that you get invitations from chapters your ranked lower.
