rec letters/general tips

Are rec letters helpful? Do they make any type of difference/are they good to have? Also in general I’m sociable and doing well in school, it feels weird to comment on my appearance but I’m not bad looking, but I don’t know anyone in greek life since I’m out of state and basically no one from my town goes here, is it okay I don’t have connections?

Connections mainly help if you’re rushing a frat. For sororities just be attractive and sociable and you should be fine, especially considering that most people in Greek life are out of state and dont know many people here when they come.

Rec letters don’t do anything but get you maybe noticed 1% more in the first round only and that’s about it, you’ll be fine

If you are a legacy that does help a little for sororities. A lot of them can’t drop girls after a certain round if they are legacies

sororitys: if a friend IN a sorority offers to write you a rec, jump on that. If you’re a legacy, let that be known. Otherwise here some random rec probably isn’t necessary
