why do greeks hate mary sue coleman?
by: wolverineDid she do something to Greeks? All of my friends in fraternities are glad she's leaving. I thought she was one of the best college presidents in the country. Can someone explain it?

She's a great president, but she and the Michigan administration are just known to not like Greek life on campus, mostly because of incidents like psi us and zbts in the recent past. She's instituted rules like that Greek organizations cannot build houses on campus, so if a frat or sorority can't have their current house the next year for some reason, their nationals can't just build them a new house even if they have more than enough money for one

Not everyone views Greek Life as a positive thing. While many fraternities do lots of charity work and promote leadership, others are primarily focused on drinking/partying and hazing pledges. It's hard for the president of a top university to support organizations that promote underage drinking and bullying others and give a negative image of the school.
