tiers

You know, my house isn't ""top tier,"" & I honestly don't care. According to this website, my house is ""mid-upper tier"". But who cares? I joined my house because I'm proud with my philanthropy, because I felt a genuine connection with my (now) brothers when I went thru recruitment, & because I felt welcomed & wanted.
I don't care if my house becomes ""bottom tier"". I care more about the empowerment of our men. If another house takes the ""top""" spot from the ""top"" 3-4, then that's great news. It shows how hard that fraternity has worked to overcome the many obstacles in their path.
IFC shouldn't be about insulting each other over ""tiers"". We should be celebrating each & every fraternity's accomplishments, even if that fraternity is not our own. We should encourage progress & change.
I don't care if your house is ""the lowest of the low"" or ""the highest of the high"" -- I'm going to treat everyone with the respect & dignity they deserve. Maybe everyone who gives a flying fudge about some ""tiers"" should start doing the same as well.
Just some food for thought, before recruitment kicks off. I hope each & every fraternity has a best & charming new member class that they can be proud of.
