rushing as a sophomore
by: onthefenceI rushed last year but only got asked back to two houses for second sets. I don't know if I want to try again this year. I don't know what I did wrong last year. I don't know how I could figure it out to make sure it doesn't happen again. I made friends during my freshman year but sometimes I feel like I'm missing out. I don't wanna look back on college and feel like I should have joined greek life. It seems like a great thing to be a part of. I just don't know how I can improve my chances and get asked back to more houses. Help.

Just go in with a positive attitude and as few preconceived notions as possible. It's not exactly clear whether you continued rushing after first or second sets, but if you go back in this year, one of two things will happen. Either a house that previously overlooked you will become your sorority home or one of the two that asked you back previously will show that it would have been all along. I would say you have nothing to lose, so give it a try and have fun with it. Good luck!

Give it a shot. Don't dwell on last year--don't talk about it when you go through or talk about it with the other girls in your group. Just go in with a positive attitude and have an open mind. If you really want to be a part of Greek Life, forget any stereotypes you might have about certain houses and give everyone a chance. Every house has something to offer, but you have to be willing to accept them too. Just go in and have fun. It's a tough process, but you usually end up where you're supposed to be. You have the benefit of knowing what you're in for, so use that experience and go for it. Good luck!
